What happens to ideas when they are submitted?

What if there are some really good solutions to problems that nobody who may need them ever sees?

Why not pay to have a top rated idea pop up on the google search page as a random idea for the day?
...or other sites.

This would bring more people to the site, create more ideas, and increased usage would attract more advertisers, more revenue, and justify the expense of such a method.

basically push ideas into the broader public consciousness.
