                 Hi, this is my first post so i dont have much experience, but i was thinking about making a faster connector for flash drives, external hard drives or or transferring high resolution video.
      ok well inside almost every pc there exists a few ports callled PCI ports which are used for transferring data between the CPU and the GPU (the graphics card), now this port is very fast - capable of multiple realtime 1080p video transfers. Now in most modern computers this port remains is holds the GPU, sound card or a specialised device card, but some computer manufacturers have begun using this port for holding a secondary hard drive. Due the nature of the PCI slot the data transfer is extremely fast, capable of r/w speeds of over 220mbps which is many times over that of traditional hard drives.The slot also allows power to flow through discarding the need for extra usb ports for power transfer.
      Now my idea is to make an extender which extends the port to outside the case of the computer, this coupled with a firmware change to allow for hot swapping of devices such as external storage devices or hi definition video camcorders.
